hi, why is everyone into herping seem so secrative coming from birdwatching it seems you do your best to put people off. now i accept this with sand lizards and smooth snake due to there status.

im in wolverhampton west midlands. i can sort of understand that i guess coming from birdwatching where information is easier to come by it just seems a little wierd as an example dartford warblers aren't common but if you know a site your happy to share the information with other people. so how much of a problem does the hostilty  and ingnorance cause at the moment is it getting better or worse?

i keep eyed lizards(Timon lepida) which bred last year,i took the yearlings to a pet shop to sell them on and he told me he wouldn't take them untill this licence thing comes in which natural england are doing for the goverment. i wouldn't keep any british reptile as i think its better to watch them in the wild

ive used Gemma's method for catching terrapins at local animal park. it does work but you have to be really quick. look for there favorite basking places set a net over them and leave them for a couple of days. check back to make sure there still being used to bask on, then wait for the right moment
