yesterday (15.2.11) I found a common lizard in my larder. Is this common?

hi

not really. its less unusual for newts to hide away in such
places though. are you sure its a lizard?

well as sure as can be...not an expert..... but lizard shape, with very yellow belly, and measures about 3 inches

still could be a newt. did it have smooth or scaly skin.
did it try to escape or could it be easily picked up?
