My small Edinburgh garden pond is full of green algae following last year's
foliage cull; yesterday I topped up the water level - today it's greener than
ever, and now I have a crop of dead tadpoles - although others are still
moving. Is it a chemical imbalance? The frogs seem ok...

Thanks. Hardly any dead ones now, as the remaining tads have eaten them
- there seems to be a fair bit of activity still - one or two have legs, but
mostly not as yet. I'll fish some out and keep them in reserve...
