Does anyone know of a cheap reliable supplier of Garmin GPS especially the Summit model.
Also the cheapest supplier of button waterproof data loogers that people have used and found to be reliable for temperature and possibly humidity.

The main supplier is www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk but you can often get deals on both fishing tackle sites and boat sites as well.  You should find reviews on many of those sties as well - sorry, cant think of one of hand - House of Hardy would do the review but be more expensive...

Alana Ecology sell GPS units and dataloggers, not especially cheap, though.

I've not bought either of these from them, but I've found them reliable for other bits and pieces I've bought in the past.

Second-hand GPS units come up pretty often on Ebay, as well.

Hi David

You may like to try eBay.

It seems odd, but there are dealers selling brand new Garmin units from the US there, which often sell for less than the UK RRP.

I bought a brand new Garmin Etrex (the basic unit) for ú70 + ú8 p&p from a dealer in the USA on eBay. The UK shop price is about ú130.

Obviously you need to to look carefully at feedback etc to make sure these are genuine eBay traders.

Regards
