Posted: 15 Jun 2005 Hello, Just wanted to know if anyone on the forum is getting involved with the Epping Forest adder/viv lizard survey next year? Its being run between BHS and Epping Forest Conservators/Corporation of London. I'm meeting up with some of the surveyors on 20th June, to have a look around the sites etc. Anyway it would be nice to get in touch with anyone here involved before the day. Posted: 15 Jun 2005 Danial, I didn't even know that there was a meeting up there on the 20th, so you know more than I! Anyway, I'm sure John (herptologic2) or Lee Brady is doing something on this...And I'm sure Gemma is involved also, so check with them. R RobV |

Posted: 16 Jun 2005 I have been contacted by some folks undertaking survey work at Epping Forest who were keen on participating in the 'Make the Adder Count' project. I recommend that you go along to the meeting and find out what is happening. It seems to me that there are a few projects underway at Epping, with little or no coordination between them. This may be a good opportunity to build some bridges. John is currently on holiday. Lee Brady Kent Herpetofauna Recorder | Independent Ecological Consultant |

Posted: 16 Jun 2005 Hi Lee, Thanks will go along to the meeting, and see if we can organise something between the various projects. Will you be attending? Danial Consultant Ecologist and Amphibians Officer of Surrey Amphibian and Reptile Group www.surrey-arg.org.uk |

Posted: 17 Jun 2005 I'm not actually involved in any of the survey work - other than promoting the make the adder count project. I will therefore not be attending the meeting (too much stuff to keep on top of in Kent!). Lee Brady Kent Herpetofauna Recorder | Independent Ecological Consultant |

Posted: 17 Jun 2005 As a side note Danial, if you are going to the meeting it would be helpful if you could keep folks up to date with how things are progressing (privately if necessary). I did try to email Graham Walters to find out how things were progressing. Unfortunately the email bounced - maybe he has changed address? Hi Danial Who is organisng the meeting? I was one of the surveyors last year. I would alos like to be informed of progress on this survey I did have a great time in Skiathos, Greece - I tried to find some snakes only one live sighting - but I did find a black grass snake (dead) and another which I have yet to identify (dead aswell) it was hay cutting time so the poor snakes got mangled. Will post some photos on the Euro page

Posted: 17 Jun 2005 Hi Jon, The meeting is being organised by Graham Walters. I get the impression that there is a lack of information being circulated. Do you have Graham Walters contact details? If not then I will pm them to you. I'd be interested in seeing your pics from your Skiathos trip, pity most of the snakes were dead.
